EIZAN TAKIKITA
Born in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
He began playing the shakuhachi at the age of 10, studying under the shakuhachi masters Miyaji Kayama, Miyoshi Kanzan, and Nomura Mineyama (living national treasures), and sankyoku ensemble under Seikoto Tomiyama (living national treasure).
While based on classical music, he is active in a wide range of musical genres, and has recently premiered and presented many commissioned shakuhachi ensemble works, expanding his musicality.
He has been a first-place candidate for both the Associate Shihan and Shihan examinations of the Tozanryu Shakuhachi Gakkai.
Graduated from the Department of Traditional Japanese Music, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, majoring in shakuhachi.
He also holds a master's degree from the Graduate School of Music at the same university.
Currently, he is a grand master of the Tozan School.

2016] Performed 11 concerts with Kyoichi Iwakiri on his "National Concert Tour 2016-2017".
2017] Performed in the avex-sponsored event "Japanese Instrument Summit" at Nijo Castle in Kyoto.
2018] Released jazz album "innocence" / Exclusive accompanist for Ayako Fuji's concert tour
2019] Performed "Eizan Takikita Shakuhachi Recital" at Ohori Noh Theater in Fukuoka / Performed at the G20 Fukuoka City Reception
2021] Soloist for the first full orchestra concert at TGS, one of the world's three major game shows, at Suntory Hall
2022] Appearance in the new Kabuki play "Puppel: Tenmei no Gomijinma" starring Ichikawa Ebizo (currently Ichikawa Danjuro Shirasaru) / July Kabuki play "Yukitsukihana Sankei".
